BOW Block 5

Yes it is that time again :) For this weeks block I figured that we would try a bit of applique. I love hand applique but you might choose to do machine applique. This link has 2 patterns for the Rose of Sharon block. You can choose to do either one or both if you wish. I am going to try to do both. I will be back in a couple of days to show ya'll my blocks. BOW Block 4

It's time again for the block of the week and I haven't even posted last weeks block of the week yet! Life has gotten so crazy, they changed my hours at work and I'm attempting to adjust to all of that. I hope that this evening I'll be able to post both this weeks and last weeks blocks. For any of ya'll stitching along with me , do you remember the Antique Quilt that I posted about awhile back. I have finally found the pattern for it. BOW Block 3

It is time again for the Block of the Week. I am having so much fun with this :) Our next block is one of my all time favirotes it's called Old Maids Puzzle. Finished Autograph Star

I really like how this turned out. It looks so much better in person. I am kicking myself in the behind for not having bought more of this fabric. I had only bought 1/4 yard of it at the time, back in '06 I think, at the time I wasn't really sure if I would use a whole bunch of it or not. If I'm lucky I'll be able to get a couple more blocks out of this fabric for my BOW.

BOW Block 2

Well it is time for block #2 of my Block of the Week. I just love this next block ! It is called Autograph Star, one day I would like to make a whole quilt from this pattern. I hope to be able to post a pic of my finished block later on today :)

Rolling Stone

This is an Antique Quilt from the 1880's. The pattern is called Rolling Stone. If I can find this pattern I may feature it in my BOW, what do ya'll think ? I just love this block.

Blogger Don't Like Me

Blogger really doesn't like me tonight. I was trying to post a pic of my finished Bear Tracks block but I keep on getting an error message :( Keep an eye on this post as I'll update it with a pic as soon as blogger lets me!

Well Blogger has decided to play nice again. It has taken me around 2 hours of some not so nice words at Blogger to get it to let me upload my photo. If anyone decides to stitch along with me please leave a comment + link so I can see your block :)

A side note

As a side note to the Bear Tracks blocks. While I was piecing this pattern I found a nice hassle free way to do the 1/2 square triangle in this block. Take your print fabric and layer it with your background fabric ( right side facing each other ) draw a line from corner to corner on the diagonal and then stitch 1/4 seam on either side of your drawn line. Cut apart on your drawn line & press open :) As soon as I get home from work I'll post a pic of my finished block.

A BOW

Well the surprise that I was talking about a couple of days ago is here :) I am going to hold a Block of the Week on my blog. I really need to reduce the amount of my fabric stash and I thought this would be a wonderful way to do it! I will only be using the fabrics from my stash ( though I reserve the right to buy yardage for borders and sashing LOL )
