Building Again

Well I'm starting a new dog pen tonight when I get home from work , I had planned to start it last week but that didn't happen because of that ear infection. I have all my wood cut ( I hope I cut it all right this time LOL ) now I just have to dig some holes and get to building. I hope this pen turnes out better than the last one LOL !! The last one my measurements were way off and the darn door won't hang right - but oh well I never said I was a carpenter !! This pen will house Jezebell as she will be having her babies very soon ( end of Jan to the first part of Feb ) I am planning on it being 10x8 feet.
Ugg - so I was petting opal last night and that dog is pregnate . I bet anything the stray German Shepard from a few weeks ago got her . I was going to get her spayed but kept on putting it off :( As soon as she weans these babies she is going straight to Dr. Fazio's to get spayed - I'm not putting it off again !!!!

I found a neat pattern

Well I've found my first pattern that I want to stitch for the CQ below. This bad boy is gonna take awhile . Now I have to decide on a background colour and thread choices. Any suggestions?????

All I can say is WOW !!!

This quilt was made in 1883 by Lucy Zimmerman . I found it tonight on Ebay and man do I wish that I had an extra 500 -600 $ in my back pocket because this quilt would so be mine !!! It has such an intersesting layout . One day - if I ever have enough time - I would like to try to recreate it.

Here are a couple more pic's of the babies :) This litter has been so much fun , alot of hard work and late nights but fun none the less . I'll be very sad to see these babies go :( However I have 2 more litter's on the way , Cleo is due the end of Jan - she was bred to Bo Jr. and Jezebel is due the end of Jan - 1st week of Feb . Jez was bred to Junior , this is my first time breeding Jez so I'm very excited to see what this breeding produces !!!

Well y'all I passed this semester's classes in Psych I got a B and in Science I got a B also ( on my science finials I got 272 points out of 300 , not to shabby !! ) I have a couple of weeks off , next semester starts on Jan 12th so I'm gonna do some stitching :) Lots and lots of stitching , it's about killed me this last semester to hardly be able to pick up a needle . I'll be taking English ( YUCK ) and Early American History.

Tobi is going to his new home tomorrow . I'm kinda sad , I was going to keep this little guy but I really needed the $$$ with Christmas and all . He is going to a good home though , a lady by the name of Terri is getting him and she sound absolutely wonderful !

New Creation & Ear Infection

Well I have been down with a very nasty ear infection :( I had to go to the ER Wensday , that was not my idea of a good time !! They had to put a wick in my ear - damn that hurt , my left ear had swelled totaly shut . Even with a good sized dose of Demorol I still yelled like a 2 year old when they put in the wick. I was able to create this adorable little primitive heart , I am making a set of 3 of these little bowl fillers, I'm going to try to sell them on Ebay and make a little bit of pocket money. I hope that they go over well as they are really alot of work .

5 Weeks old - And way too cute !!!!

This here is Tobi at 5 weeks old , this little guy is a cutie pie , he's got a really sweet temperment . He just loves to be held and loved on !

This is Ginger , we are keeping her . This little girl is really tiny, I figure that she will be around 4 to 4 1/2 pounds full grown. I am most likley going to bred her to Max , the little black tri from Cleo's last litter.

At this point it is looking like she will have green eye's which is way cool ! Her marking are darkening up since she was born and that's a good thing too.

This is Amber , she was Robert's pick of the litter for using his little stud Rocky. I really like how this little girl is turning out & I Think that Robert will be happy with her.

I still have 2 more puppy's from this litter to post pic's of , maybe if I'm lucky I'll be able to do it tommorow.

Hi Everyone

Well this semester is about over , I have finials next week so I'm really happy . The next semester starts on Jan 12th so this will give me a little break to try to get things sorted out and if I'm really lucky maybe do a little stitching. I have been just dying to start on a needlefelted sheep pattern that I found in a magazine called Create & Decorate. It's my nev faviorate magazine !! It's just slam packed full of all sorts of primitive patterns. Man , I wish that I could quite working that would really free up some time for stitching :) The puppies are doing great , I hate the new camera though , the pictures always look so blurry ! I'll try to get some decent ones of them to post.

3 weeks old !!

This is the babies first feeding and boy did they make quite a mess . They turned 3 weeks old on Thursday , it's a little soon but they are dragging their momma down so I figured that I would give them a go at eating to try to keep some of the burden off of Voilet. They did very well their first feeding , I feed them canned dog food mixed with canned milk to make it pretty soupy. I will try to post more pic's of these babies soon , I have a bunch more pic's but it take forever to get them uploaded.

Long Time No Post - New Puppies

Well we had puppies on 10/25/07 from Voilet and Rocky . As you can see I am now up and running with a new ditial camera, I'm not real pleased with it as the photo quality was much better in my other one. I also had 2 females bred . Cleo my chocolate female was bred 2 weeks ago to my black tri stud Bo Jr. and my white female is being bred right now to my blue merle stud Junior . Also it looks like I may be having 2 more coming into heat very soon , my pearl female Tinkerbell and my black tri female Demon Dog( daughter of Cleo X Junior). So I should be extra busy here in a couple of months !!!

I will add more puppy pic's tommorow after work :)

New Puppies

Well we have 5 darling new puppies , I have no ditial camera (yet , I hope to have enough $$ to have one in a week or so ) but there were 2 choclate males, 1 red merle female and 2 blue merle female's. One blue merle female is very tiny - half the size of the other puppies.
School is going very well I have an A in science and a B in Psychology . We are 4 weeks from the end of 1st semester and I'm looking at having to choose classes for the 2nd semester, I think I'm going to pick History and English, I thought about maybe a 3rd class but then decided to stick with just the 2 classes as I have a feeling they will be pretty intense.

Oh I'm Mad!!!!!!

My darn ditial camra isn't working , I had a bunch of photo's I was going to upload today for this blog and the darn camra won't upload any of them . Anyone have any idea's as to what could be wrong with it , it's a Kodak EasyShare C533 .

Cheyenne's 1st Horse Ride

Doen't she look super cute on the back of this horse !! She just loved it , I really would love to get her some lessons. Maybe one day when I'm not so pinched for time .

I'm Here - Really :)

Life has been so busy the last couple weeks ya'll , I feel just horrible having neglected my posting I promise that I will try to do better . So far school is going well in science I'm holding a 95 avg , I have my first test in science this upcomming weekend . I'm a little worried about it as I am having a really hard time "getting " the concepts in science . In Psyc I have a 94 avg and my first test is also comming up this weekend in that too but I think I'll do really well in that . I have a 84 avg in Criminal Justice my first test in it was this past week , I did alright on the test but not as well as I had hoped for but I'll know what to look out for on the next one.
The dogs are doing wonderful !! Voilet looks like she has taken , she is starting to devolp a little pouch and is eating like a pig LOL :) The puppies are doing wonderful , I will post pic's of Angel , Max & Lilly tomorrow . Lilly is a puppy that I got along with her mother Jezabel and I will post pic's of those two tommorow also .
I haven't really had much time for any of my projects but this weekend I found a couple of blocks that I had stitched up about 6 - 8 months ago , they were buried in the bottom of my craft closet , I know I have more than what I found as I seem to rember that I was going to make a quilt out of them . I'll do a bit more digging this week & see what I can find . I'll post pic's of them this week .
My fall CQ is kinda on hold at the moment , I've finished block 2 and block 3 is almost peiced I hope to have a spare moment this week to work on block 3 - I think I'm gonna do 9 blocks on this one and call it good. I have to hunt up some more embroidery patterns for this one - If anyone knows where I can find a small bear ( real looking - not teddy bear ) pattern please let me know .
I'm not sure what is up with the tone on tone RR - I haven't seen a new block in a while . Tommorow I'll post to the board and see what I can find out . I do know that my block is with Jo in NZ please go to my side bar and check out her site . She is working on a awesome black CQ for her bed and it looks right smashing .
Well I'm off to bed ya'll I have caught a bit of a cold and I'm feeling kinda yucky right now

Finally Got My Books !!!!!

I finally got my books Friday , I am so happy :) Now I have a ton of catch up work to get done . I'm almost caught up in Criminal Justice , Psyc I am 1 week behind and in Science I am 1 week behind . I thought 3 classes really wasn't much but I guess I was wrong LOL , I'm finding it tough to squeze in the time for everything so if I lag behind in my posting please forgive me . I am finding the science class a real challenge I hope I'll be able to do it , I'm just not getting the concept of it , I guess I'll just have to study harder . Well I'm off to go hit the books again , maybe I'll be able to get out to the dog pens at some time today as I've got 3 more bags of ready mix to lay down !!

Well I am finally almost done with block #2 . I just have a couple more seams to go then I can start on block #3.

A blog I love

Well ya'll I have found a totaly awesome blog , it's called Pairie Quilts . She does some of the most amazing sane quilts . Ater I get some more work done on my crazy quilts I have a few sane quilts that I need to pull out & finish . I wish that they would just magically finish themselves while they are sitting in my craft closet LOL :) Well that will never happen so I really do need to get off my bum and get them done . Fall Block 2 - another update

This is the little leaves that I stitched the other day on my 2nd fall block . The yellow is not quite so bright in person . I drew this design myself - not to shabby I think.

This is a seam that I stitched today . I'm not totaly happy with it , it seams to need a little something more , but I'm not sure what that more is ? ! The sead beads at the end of the spikes are really sparkly in person , they're colour is called Red Gold Luster.

Here is some of the lace that I hand dyed a few weeks ago . Looks right smashing on this block , kinda ties in the teal peice of fabric at the top.

This is some fabric that I found today at WalMart . It was only 1$ a yard I got the whole 5 yards . I am going to use it as shashing on this C.Q. and I hope that I will have enough to use it as the backing too.

You ever have one of those day's ??

Today has just been one of those day's for me today . Nothing has gone right for me today . As some of you may know I am trying to go to College on-line fron Northwestern here in Louisiana for a Bacholor of Pscy , well it's not going so well.From the start it has not gone well , it took almost a month to get Maine to fax the college my GED scores .Then after all that it's taken almost 3 weeks to get ahold of finacal aid just to find out that I need a whole bunch more forms filled out ! I have been trying to get my books all week long but still can't get aproval from finacial aid . Finacial aid is doing one of those random verifcations on me & it will be 4 to 6 weeks before that is done , I will have to drop out of the 3 classes that I am registered for :( I guess I'm going to have to hope that it all goes alright and I don't get charged for the classes because I just don't have the cash to pay them right now . I knew when the lady at the Registration office wanted to sign me up for the classes before I got ahold of Finacial Aide was a really bad idea. At this point I'm just a hair away from saying to hell with it all !! I'm going to have to call them Monday & tell them to drop me from those classes for this semester . I'm just so upset , maybe it's not ment for me to go back to school :(

Fall Block 2 - Some Cattails

I have gotten this much done on my fall block this week . I have 1 more mofit to put on this block then I will start doing the seams . I am wanting to finish this block this weekend and get # 3 ready to go .

Fan Colours

Yup I think I really do like them better on black , now I just cross my finger's that I have enough black for all the blocks . I think I will use this Rose fabric ( it's a litter darker in person ) for the sashing and I may even have enough for the backing too. I found another 4 1/2 yard of the rose fabric in my closet tonight so I thin in all I have 2 yards of the black & like 8 yards of the rose. Thank you to everyone who left me a comment on the other post ya'll are just wonderful !!!

A couple of Fans

Well this is as far as I have gotten with my new Fan quilt . It's going kinda slow as I also have the Fall C.Q. to work on & the Redwork RR. Also I had ro revise my pattern as the one that I had started out with was not working . These will be 9 inch blocks instead of 12 inch blocks but that's alright . Cheyenne has picked out the fabrics for these two fans and I think she has done a wonderful job for being 11 years old . I have a couple of questions for those of you who read my blog -

1. Should I make all the fan base's the same colour ( I have a medium grey ) or should the base's match the fan ?

2. Should I put the fans on some black satin or some light rose satin ?

3. Should I give ya'll pic's to see what they look like on each fabric ?

4. Should I do sashing or a straight set ?

Redwork RR - Shay's Blocks

These are Shay's blocks. The background fabric isn't really blue it's a bright white . These are from some vintage iron on patterns that Shay had - they are very pretty.

Voilet

This is Rat Pack's Voilet Whisper . Voilet is a 5 pound black tri . Her mother is Princess a sable & white that weighed 7 pounds and her daddy is Rusty a 5 pound choclate tri . Voilet is comming into heat , I checked her yesterday and she is in the 1st part of her cycle , she will be bred to Rat Pack's King of Hill otherwise know as Bo Jr. He is out of Rambo a 4 pound charcole tri & Ladybug a 6 pound black tri . Bo carries for Blue Merle , choclate & blue where Voilet carries for sable , choclate & blue . I am very intrested to see what they will produce . Voilet has had one litter and that litter was 2 blue frosted males . One of the males was stillborn and the other one she smothered at just under 2 weeks old . I am hopeing that this litter she does alot better with .

Fall Block #2 update

This is what I have done on the second fall block , I know that I want to put some wheat on this block now I just have to find a pattern of some wheat . I really like how the deer turned out but the horns are a little to light , I used a light creamish tan on the horns.

The Start

This is a new crazy quilt that I have started - someone please stop me I have no will power !!! This will be a 20 block quilt for my kid brother Corey & his wife Erika . I have never made anything for them & I thought it was about time I got off my rump & got started on it . I will be setting the fans on some white fancy fabric that I bought and it will have a deep rose coloured fabric for the sashing though I may have to change the rose fabric because I only bought 2 yards and it may take more than that to do the sashing . I'm not sure what colour I will do for the fan base maybe some black satin that I have but I'm not sure yet because I think I want to do some outline embroidery in each fan base but we'll see how it goes . Well I'm off to do some more fan blades . I hope to have the top done in a couple of months so I'm really gonna have to hustle on this one.

Redwork RR Update

This is the block that I stitched for Bette . I just love her patterns & her colour choices. Just awesome !!! I will be mailing this out to Shay on Friday when I get paid.

Cheyenne's 11th Birthday :)

Well all my big girl has turned 11 , ugg I'm feeling old now ! She had a wonderful day , she got a DS & a game with it , lots of jewerly & a few purses.
