New Swap ;)

Well ya'll I have embarked on yet another swap .

It will be an 8 in block when it is finished , I am making a few more to go with it though I haven't decided if it's gonna be a 6 or 9 block wall hanging . I'm not so sure that I'm really fond of the peach peice at the top of the block but it tie's in really well with the fabric right below it. I might add some lace to the peach to kinda tone it down a little bit . For anyone who might be intrested in joining this swap it is being hosted by Gerry on CQN ( a yahoo group ) , her blog can be found in my sidebar

Puppy Update - 6 weeks old

The puppies have turned 6 weeks old & are doing just wonderful . Sandra , your little merle pup is going to have one blue eye just like her daddy :) My little merle is going to have 2 brown eye's , I was hopeing for her to have a blue eye but that's o.k.

Mary's Quilt - 1905 Antique

This quilt is really interesting , at first I thought it was a Dresden Plate , but if you look really close at the close up photo's it is 4 fan blocks set together ! I think the background is black wool but not really sure . One day when I'm rich ( LOL , not at my job !! ) I'm going to own a whole bunch of Antique crazy quilts.

My New Stud Dog !!!

This is my new little stud dog :) I am buying him from my freind Sandra Graham in Dry Creek . He is called a blue-fawn merle and is a super rare colour . His daddy is a Red ( choclate ) merle ( 6 pounds ) and his momma is a blue tri ( 7 pounds ) . He has one blue eye and one green eye , very pretty . I have 200.00 more to pay on him then I can bring him home . I still need to think of a name for him . Anyone have any idea's on what I can name him ???

1890 Antique C.Q.

The stitching on this quilt is just amazing !! The maker of this quilt really put alot of time and love into the making of it . I think that we can learn so much from looking at these antique's , the skill level sometimes just amazes me .

Antique 1887 PA Quilt

This quilt is really pretty , the stitching is simple but I think that's what I really like about it. I think the center block is really unique on this quilt , I would love to know how the maker came up with the idea for it .

Another Antique C.Q.

Isn't the detail on the C.Q. amazing !! It is from the early 1900's , whoever stitched this had alot of talent ! It went for well over 500 $ on Ebay , I tryed to win it but I only bid 150 $ :( Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to win an antique at a price I can afford

Thread Crochet

Well the last couple of days I have been working on some thread crochet mofits . Wensday a freind of mine gave me a couple of balls of size 10 thread that she had found on a lawn sale. Hazel knew that I crochet , mind you I crochet with worsted weight yarn , I've never done thread crochet as I always felt like my fingers were just to darn big. The thread looked like it had seen better days , it was kinda dingy and stained but I felt like I had to at least try or I might hurt Hgazel's feelings . It took me 2 days to get these little mofits done up , they are about 1 1/4 inch across . I hand dyed some of the thread that I wound off one of the balls for the second photo , I don't think I made the colour changes big enough but I'll give that another go a diffrent day. The third photo is dyed a bright blue , much brighter in person and I'll use that one for my Tone on Tone crazy quilt. The last photo the mofit is really a pretty purple and not the blue that it looks like in the photo. I think I kinda like the thread crochet, I'm off to go hunt some more patterns for more mofits
